Dante Germain is an Artist who primarily uses glass to express his creative voice. He began working with hot glass in 2014 and quickly learned to appreciate the fragile and technical process of the material. Germain received his BFA in glass and photography from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls in 2017.
Shortly after graduation Germain spent six weeks in Europe as a visiting artist (Gent Glas, Ghent, Belgium), a studio intern at the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft, (Ebeltoft, Denmark), and as a visiting assistant for Tobias Mohl, Andrew Brown and Nanna Backhaus Brown (Denmark).
Germain enjoys the challenges of teaching and sharing his knowledge with students. He has been a hot glass instructor at the Corning Museum of Glass (Corning, NY), Buck’s Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp (New Milford, CT), FOCI Minneapolis, and Circle 6 Studios (Phoenix, AZ).
Germain Currently lives in Phoenix Arizona, where he is part of the lively Southwest glass community. His most recent body of work exhibits mixed media sculptures of glass and metal piping inviting viewers to reflect on the relationship between people and water quality. Several current issues and social opinions are expressed through his work, such as problems associated with intensive agriculture and tile drainage.
